Chiledzholo

Chiledzholo (Ciliegiolo) is a red grape variety of Central and North-Western Italy, half-forgotten in recent decades, but undergoing a certain Renaissance in Liguria and at its spiritual home in Tuscany.

The story of the birth of the varieties are not documented. There are versions that he was originally from Spain.

Synonyms varieties: Brunellone, Criminese, Riminese, Sangiovese Polveroso Bonechi.

Chiledzholo the name comes from the Italian ciliegia – cherry, this wine is reminiscent in color and flavor. It is this nature and led to its current Renaissance, is its ability to refresh and revive heavy blend.

In modern conditions, when the demand for wines with character at a young age, with an easy-drinking, sort chiledzholo was an excellent addition to a solid varieties, which require at least a few years in the cellar.
