What attracts women wine? What kind of wine do they prefer? The answers to these questions tried to get the organizers of the International exhibition of wine and spirits Vinexpo.
4 306 women 18 years or older from five countries (France, UK, Germany, Japan and USA) are told, what they find attractive in the drink.
The results showed that 85.5% of women of wine – the attribute of a balanced diet. And in Germany this figure rises to 87.8% in the US – up to 96,9%, and in France, by contrast, drops to 77.7%.
Most women drink wine because they like its taste (79,3%) and because it goes well with food (69%). And only 12.3% drink wine because it is good for health, and 10.8 per cent – because it is fashionable. Interestingly, even the French follow fashion (1.3%) and health (7,9%) are in last place, far more important benefits of wine will work with food (65,7%) and taste (62,7%).
Six out of ten women (62.6 percent) reported that drinking a glass of wine at least once a week. Of them French – 52,3%.
It is preferable for women is red wine, which constituted 60.1% of the total consumption. This preference may have to 78.6% of women in the United States, 63.9% in Japan and 50.2% in Germany.
Approximately 44.3% of women choose wine, 44,2% ask the advice of a relative or friend. The percentage of women choosing wine yourself, reaches 61,3% of Brits and dropping to 7.3% of Japanese women.
The price is the first criterion in the selection of wines (56.7 per cent), especially in Japan (75,8%) and England (73.8 per cent). The second criterion is the origin (country or region) – (55.9 per cent) and the third grape variety (55.6 per cent). For French women in the first place is the origin (69,6%), then price (45,4%) and grade (40.7 percent).
