Arban (Arbane) – a rare white grape variety found now only on a couple of hectares in the côte de Bar in southern champagne.

It is the least known of the seven varieties officially permitted in the production of champagne. His “popularity” is comparable to a sort of Petit méliès from the same list.

Today, only one winery uses this variety – champagne Motor Pere e Fils (Moutard Pere et Fils). Motor uses it in two of its wines: depanom (monosortovom) Cepage Arbane Vieilles Vignes Cuvee des and Six Cepages, which, in addition to Arban, is composed of nearly all other permitted varieties, except Pinot Gris.

To the North, in the Central part of the Marne valley, champagne house Tarlan (Tarlant) planted a small plot of vines Arban. But while the obvious signs of use this variety in their wines was observed.
