Gamay (Gamay) – grape, best known for joyful wines of Beaujolais. Although Gamay is capable of creating a characteristic fresh bouquet of bright fruit and candy, its wines often lack concentration and structure, and most of them are simple and watery.

But, first, Italian Lambrusco this character never stopping, and Gamay, there are plenty of such sparkling incarnations, traveling to its light fruitiness – as the outside of the Beaujolais region, and even outside of France, including playful German winemakers.

And secondly, a separate, well-done samples quiet Gamay differ in depth and complexity.

Gamay has long been used in the blend of Burgundy region Maconnais. And since 2011, if in the quiet Burgundian wine Gamay content exceeds 30%, it can be released even under a separate appellation Bourgogne Gamay (AOC Bourgogne Gamay).
