Crémant Jury

Crémant du Jura (Crémant du Jura) – appellation sparkling wines of the Jura in Eastern France.

Established in 1995 specifically to sparkling wines produced in the region since the 18th century. Previously they were sold as vin mousseux (van Musso, ie, just “sparkling wine”) in the various sub-appellations of the region.

Area of production of this sparkling appellation coincides with the borders of Côtes du Jura, which still wines are sold. It is possible to get 105 communes in the territory with a length of 80 km of vineyards with a total area of approximately 210 ha. a quarter of all wines Jury is it crémant.

White crémant contain at least 50% Chardonnay, the rest is sort of savagnin.

Key in pink is dominated by red varieties of the region: the pulsar and Pinot Noir, which shall be not less than half of the blend.

Like any other French crémant, crémant Jury can rely on their grades, but must be done the “traditional method” (méthode traditionelle) – as in champagne, and aged on yeast lees for at least nine months.
