\n\t\tGevrey-Chambertin<\/strong> (Gevrey-Chambertin)\u2013 the commune (village) in the Burgundy region c\u00f4te de Nuits (the Northern part of the c\u00f4te d’or). It produces some of the most prestigious and expensive dry red wines of the world of Pinot Noir.\n <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nWithin the boundaries of the commune are 9 Grand CRU vineyards, more than any other Burgundian village (the closest rival Vosne-roman\u00e9e). 8 of them are labeled “Chambertin” as a reflection of the recognition of the most respected of them is Le Chambertin.\n <\/p>\n

\nOnce the village was called simply Gevrey, but in 1847 the parish Council added to it the name of the most prestigious local vineyards \u2013 Le Chambertin. This practice is rooted in the future, throughout the c\u00f4te d’or: remember Puligny and Chassagne Montrachet. Today 11 villages of the c\u00f4te d’or use the names of their best vineyards.\n <\/p>\n

\nAlthough the specific focus of the wine grand cru, labels General appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin also worthy of attention. As their older brothers Grand CRU, all of the standard Gevrey Chambertin are made almost exclusively from Pinot Noir.\n <\/p>\n

\nGevrey Chambertin is known as the most full-bodied and structured wine of Burgundy, with particularly rich color, aroma and taste, not to mention outstanding aging potential: very good samples are able to develop in the bottle for decades.\n <\/p>\n

\nThese wines often used the epithet “male”, especially in comparison with other pole is “feminine” wines of Chambolle-Musigny.\n <\/p>\n

\nVinogradniki grand cru is located on the southern edge of the village, on the mid slopes of the famous hills of the c\u00f4te d’or. Together, these 9 Klima, each under its own appellation, is a belt with a width of 500 meters between the village and its boundary with Morey-Saint-Denis (Morey-Saint-Denis). From the Grand CRU vineyards are the most expensive wines of the commune.\n <\/p>\n

\nThe premier cru vineyards lie on the Western edge of the village, on higher located slopes of the c\u00f4te d’or (at the height of 250-350m). The most distinguished of them, the Clos Saint-Jacques (Clos Saint-Jacques) and Le Kazete (Les Cazetiers) often receive evaluations at the level of Grand CRU.
\nTo the East and North lies the many vineyards of the category the village (village) from which every year there is more wine than with most other communes of the c\u00f4te d’or.\n <\/p>\n

\nEach year, under the appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin (including CRU) produces more than 2 million bottles of wine with 435 hectares of vineyards. This number does not include Grand CRU wines, since they have their own appellations.\n <\/p>\n

\nAmong the most recognized wine producers of Gevrey-Chambertin names such as Domaine Armand Rousseau, Domaine Fourrier, Domaine Leroy and Domaine Trapet Pere et Fils. Of course, large merchants also include these wines in their portfolios.
